The area of armament and security, which have a great influence on international relations, have been developing inseparably from science technology. Developing science technology can cause the change of operational domain. In addition to military technology, consumer products, such as information and communication technology and automotive technology, have a great influence on international relations in the aspect of standardization strategy of each industry. Thus, we technohegemony-group will explore science technology that determine international relations, and work in observing international relations from the aspect of science technology.

Grand strategy in the Twenty-First century -The possibility of cooperation between Japan and Taiwan-

Person in Charge of the Project : Seiichiro HiguchiThis project aims at reconsider the importance of Taiwan (Republic of China) for the grand strategy of Japan. And we will discuss about the possibility of the cooperation between Japan and Taiwan. Taiwan has the common interests with Japan. However, we, Japanese people, have not fully discussed about the cooperation with Taiwan. And it is difficult to say that Japanese know well the importance of Taiwan for themselves. This August, Motohiro Tsuchiya Seminar conveyed a research about the Taiwanese policy of national security at Taipei. This project shows the direction of new Japan-Taiwan relationship that is so crucial for Japan.

Science, technology and society -An idol in Japan-

Person in Charge of the Project : Tama IsodaWhose figure or what kind of memory comes to your mind when you hear "Idol group"? Idol groups have become more popular with TVs. There have been so many Idol groups from 2010 that it is called "Sengoku period of Idols". SMAP, a nationally famous idol group, announced its breakup in 2016, which caused wide impact on the society, and even the Prime Minister commented about it. As above, we cannot ignore the presence of Idol groups. In this research, we examine how idol groups in Japan exist and will change, mainly by discussing the relationship between Idol groups and the mass media.

Science, technology and society -Relations between SNS and youth-

Person in Charge of the Project : Mai SonoyamaWe research about the relationship between SNS and the youth in two themes. One is about the use of SNS (social media) to fulfill their desire for recognition. It is possible to use not only letters but also pictures and movies to be arrestive in SNS. And also, SNS has the characteristic of anonymity. We do analysis discussion about such modernistic mean, SNS, which youth use to fulfill desire of recognition. Another one is about the encountering through social search mobile app and social media. These services have been popular because of the spread of the smartphone.
