A development of the world largest class pressure sensor for the gait analysis

Person in Charge of the Project : Sakura YAMAJI

It is very difficult to observe natural walk in the laboratory experiment. People must walk on the force platform which is installed on the floor. Then, under the instruction, they must step on it. This circumstance might collapse their natural walk. Therefore, in our consortium, Ohgi Laboratory collaborated with NISSHA Corporation and developed a pressure sensor that enables natural walking.

In wheelchair marathon, the athletes use special gloves to push the hand-rim for the propulsion. Athletes have been created their own gloves that fit their hand size and shape with trial and error. Therefore, we have been developed customized design resin based glove by using 3D scanning technology and 3D printers with JSR Corp. and BRIDGESTONE . We are improving our gloves for the performance enhancement with the assistant of World Para Athletics.
