In this Pitch, we propose our plan about the MUSIK: Music Science Institute at Keio SFC. Prof. Savage presents research on musical universals including rhythmic dance. Prof. Fujii presents research on neural mechanisms of musical rhythm. Prof. Uozumi presents composition using biological algorithms. Prof. Fujii presents plans for global experimental network. Prof. Savage presents plans for applying automated analysis to music industry (copyright lawsuits, music recommendation services). By using science to understand the origins and functions of human music throughout the world and throughout history, we will be able to create new music in the global society.
