E-Cell project

Person in Charge of the Project : Yasuhiro NaitoOur goal is to reconstruct the cell, that is the common structural unit of life, as an "electrical cell" on computer. The E-Cell project consists of the following two backbones:

(1) development of E-Cell System for simulation of the life system,
(2) life science research using E-Cell system. Since we can easily modify the electrical cells on the computer, and can observe their internal states as we want, it is expected that the power of cell simulation technology accelerates not only understanding biological phenomena but also practical achievements such as drug discovery.
