Hapticom: A Glove Type Device to augment presence of talkers in remote communication by conveying haptic

Person in Charge of the Project : Keisuke SasakiThis research suggest a grove type device that augments presence of talker in remote communication. In recent years, some research which is to incorporate haptic in remote communication is conducted, but they don't convey it enough, because these research don't focus on conveying body temperature, although haptic is composed by not only pressure sensation but also body temperature. So, in this research, the goal is to realize augmenting presence in remote communication to convey haptic by reproducing pressure sensation and body temperature, and to realize it in wearable environment.

A communication robot migrates between physical space and virtual space with mixed reality

Person in Charge of the Project : Nao KondoCommunication robots have attracted attention. We focus on the personal robot. Most of the robots' features are limited by its hardware. The limitation causes the robot difficulty with significant expressions and going outside with the user. In this research, the robot migrates various shapes or spaces according to the user's context.
