Minitualized Parallel Computer Shogi System with Raspberry Pi

Person in Charge of the Project : Hirotaka KumagaiComputer Shogi has been made rapid progress since around 1960's. In this year, Computer Shogi Program "Ponanza" defeated Mejin, Japanese Chess Master. Computer Shogi remains big progress potential in terms of paralleling hardware. In this exhibition, I would like to show you this potential with minitualized parallel model using some Raspberry Pi.

Ultra-Low Latency 3D Video Streaming with FPGA

Person in Charge of the Project : Akira ShojiIn the case of remote medical treatment or disaster relief using robots, it is essential to reduce the delay of the whole system that manipulates the robot. Because it requires high-precision operation. In this exhibition, we will present a system that reduces delays of output from the robot camera to the display of the pilot as much as possible. Specifically, we do not process codecs that become a bottleneck in video transmission, but transmit video data at the level of one scanning line. This exhibition produces 3D images using two cameras of consumer goods and displays it on the HMD. Please enjoy the visibility of the robot with the delay restrained to the limit.
