Presentation Group:Sports and Health Innovation Consortium
Graduate School of Media and GovernanceYuji Ohgi
This consortium is exploring the application of 3D printers to the sports and health fields. The development of wheelchair athletics gloves has passed through the Rio de Janeiro Paralympics, and we are supporting athletes aiming for the Tokyo Paralympics. We are also developing competition-specific products for surface rubber, which is also the key to glove performance. Currently, we are developing gloves for beginners with an emphasis on safety in order to broaden the base of wheelchair athletics. Furthermore, we are promoting activities toward social practice aiming at a cycle in which people with disabilities themselves make equipment for people with disabilities with a 3D printer.
