Community Design Project

Person in Charge of the Project : Keisuke Fukushige

We are working in the Fujisawa City Endo area where SFC is located. The project was launched with a sense of awareness that the relationship between SFC and the Endo area, the area closest to us, was weak.Currently, with the residents of the Endo area, we are launching a children's co-cooking program and implementing content for elementary school students in local area walks. With a focus on community-based education, we will conduct practical research on the role of universities and university students in the region, with university students participating in the children's co-cooking program as an example.

Local Active-Learning Project

Person in Charge of the Project : Nagisa Saito

This project is working on the community revitalization achieved through education. Our field is Kaida Highlands in Kiso city, Nagano and in this region, there is only one junior high school with 26 students in total. This makes it hard for the students to feel the diversity in their daily life. In the past, students in Kaida Highlands deepened the understanding of their own culture through the cross-cultural communication with the exchange students from SFC. We are trying not only to create an opportunity for the students to widen their perspective but also to revitalize the community by making a new flow of people through workshops. In order to do this, we are working with different kinds of people in the region, such as the teachers and the local officials.

Glocal English Project

Person in Charge of the Project : Hazuki Horikoshi

We, Glocal English Project hold English workshops at 4 elementary/junior-high schools in Kanagawa and Tokyo. In addition, we hold short-term workshops that allow the participating students to understand cross-culture and to acquire English as a communication tool. Each of us sets research themes, for example, changes in learning attitude, and learning motivation. We conduct workshops based on the themes.
