Person in Charge of the Project : Nana Kaneda

There are many attractive images around us, for example, models shown in magazine and television commercials. But, the sense and standard of personal appearance vary. What kind of figure do you think that ideal? So, therefore, I consider how the ideal figure is formed by cases of Body dysmorphic disorder and Body image, and relations between those and psychological factors. How did the sense and standard of personal appearance form and how does it change with? The relations about feelings to beauty, ugliness, self-affirmation, and childhood environment will become a big hint of this problem.

Tea and stress coping

Person in Charge of the Project : Natsumi Shikama

Tea is decreasing both in production and consumption due to the shift in the nature of families and the culture of tea-ceremony. Therefore, in order to propose a new way to utilize tea, I am studying about the relationship between tea and mind focusing on stress coping and looking for problems that can be resolved psychologically with tea. Eventually, I will propose new products and new business related to tea. Specifically, I will conduct questionnaires and interviews such as how you feel by drinking some tea. Also, I will investigate what kind of impression will be given by the scent and color of tea. In this research, I would like many people to know the charm of tea.

Truly understanding Mental Illness

Person in Charge of the Project : Hatsumi Tanaka

Any kind of treatment starts out by understanding that certain disease. If its a disease which you can see by X-rays, doctors will show you the X-ray picture and explain what kind of medicine will be used, what kind of side effects might the patient experience, what kind of matters do families have to keep in mind when affecting with the patient. But how about the case of disease you can’t see? Mental illness needs the same treatment as normal diseases. The only difference is that you can see the cause or not. But people tend to react differently. In this exhibit, I will be investigating the true understanding of mental illness from a prejudiced point of view.
