Micro Urban Element Lab

Person in Charge of the Project : Saori Tokushige

In Japan, one third of houses will be vacant house in the 2030s. It is expected that the demand for renovation / reduction corresponding individually to each building will be increasing more and more in the future. Since Fab is easy to repeat original size design / mockup and digital / physical crossover, it will be able to meet the demand. In this laboratory, we divide the urban space into element units such as windows and walls, design the elements parametrically, and develop the general solution as the actual space. We will control the appearance and behavior of urban space of the future by developing large equipment and new construction materials.

Super Body Fit Lab

Person in Charge of the Project : Yoshihiro Asano

Nowadays, we can create higly-personlized items which is suitable and fit for human body by using  3D scanning and 3D printing technology. Now we think not only the body but also the design method suitable for the user’s living environment will be necessary. For example, we develop 3D printed  artificial limbs, daily necessities and tools for caring based on nursing perspectives in cooperation with experts and users.
