The Causes of Integration and Division

Person in Charge of the Project : Yorizumi WatanabeProfessor Yorizumi Watanabe's laboratory is based on the development of the global political economy. Organizational history of GATT and the WTO as well as their current significance in global economic affairs are studied in detail, while interpreting the pacts' agreement conditions. Following the movements of super power nations, their search for self-profit through sovereign acts of trade have stood out. This year’s project investigates why the current world situation has forced what once used to be integrated opportunities, to become mutated into individual nationalistic progressions. Students studied the reasons to why and how current day integration is being pursued.
