Exploring a methodology of describing soundscape - vocabulary and grammar

Person in Charge of the Project : Kikuna KuwayamaOur daily lives are surrounded by soundscape. Our body listens to it and feels it via tactile senses, and thereby makes them connected to thoughts and actions. However, the process is really tacit and does not appear in our consciousness. How can soundscape be described? We, utilizing rough sketches, have tried to describe soundscape, derived common elements from those sketches, and found that there are some vocabularies and grammar in it.

Person in Charge of the Project : Minami KosekiLooking at a vacant lot and thereby imagining the building and someone's life there used to be, and thinking of the owner of a used book from the handwriting of the book etc. - Focusing on "REMAINS", we detect many stories around it. When we notice there are some REMAINS, what elements do we recognize in the "REMAINS", and how do we make a story out of the "REMAINS"? This project aims at promoting our meta-cognition through writing "The REMAIN's Story". Focusing on "REMAINS", we will encounter new aspects of things in everyday life.
