Material Interactions: Interactive Media That Extends The "Material"

Person in Charge of the Project:Yasuaki Kakehi

In this project we aim to harmonically integrate the physical world (Atoms) and digital world (Bits). We aim not only to optically superimpose information on the real world, but also infiltrate and integrate information with substances at a profound level to its physical properties. By thoroughly "multiplying" the computationally controlled environment or tools with the various characteristics of substances, such as elasticity, conductivity and magnetism, we provide improvisational transformation or movement to the physical world and realize a new interaction with people.

Design for Habitation: Interactive Media That Extends The "Person"

Person in Charge of the Project:Yasuaki Kakehi

The theme for this project is "(Re)HABILITATE." In addition to supporting the person's actions with digital technology, we aim to "extract and extend" the person's ability. Therefore we realize interactions between people and media that make use of substance and information, and also develop tools and practice alongside people in the point of view of rehabilitation, food, and supporting creation.
