Multi Database, Multimedia Database System Design and its Application

The aim of this research project is to create the meta level knowledge base system forstorybased active mediadata. These systems realize the comparison of the semantic,emotional and temporal feature relationship. Themost significant features of this project arefollowing: 1)The automatic metadata generation function and theautomatic media dataanalyzer, 2)The knowledge expression function by different kind of media integration,3)Theactive delivery function for the integrated media data.

5D World Map System with Semantic & Spatiotemporal Analyzers

The 5D World Map System is a new computational environment that makes it possible tocalculate correlation on3 geographical axis (x,y,z), 1 time axis (t), and multiple semanticalaxis as a multimedia semantic computingsystem for global environmental analysis. One ofthe important applications of this system is to evaluate variousinfluences caused by naturaldisasters in global environments.

Creation of Information Provision Methods responding to User

We have proposed an information provision platform with a concept of mutual projection betweenReal Spaceand Cyber Space in a railway environment by correlation calculation methods. This year,we have beendeveloping a more precise information provision method with informationsimplification, visualization, navigationand recommendation for users who are unfamiliar withrailway environment such as foreign visitors.

Global Environmental System Leaders Program (GESL)

This program seeks to make a genuine contribution to the international community by fosteringglobalenvironmental system leaders with the capability to lead the world and deal withmultifaceted environmentalissues based on a bedrock of science and technology and afoundation for formulating social rules. Weendeavor to achieve this through close cooperationbetween the Graduate School of Media and Governance, Graduate School of Science andTechnology, and other international research institutions.
