Good communication between patient and health professionals enables mutual understanding, better medical services, and better outcomes. We discuss what are the keys for good communication in different scenarios in healthcare.
"Karada-kan" - Community-based Health Information Station

"Karada-kan" was established in 2007 in Tsuruoka city in Yamagata prefecture to support decision-making of community people in terms of health-relating issues. A wide range of information includes scientifically based guidelines, as well as a variety of patients' experiences and stories. Current collection includes over 1400 books about cancer, various pamphlets, multimedia, and computers for online searching. We provide various lectures, pro-active study groups, survivor's meetings and peer support groups in the community.
