The Case Method – an approach to cultivate problem solving abilities

The Case Method is a teaching method that uses problem-embedded cases to encourage attendants to discuss and refine solutions to the problem. The Case Method is said to be effective in cultivating abilities of decision-making in practical contexts. By working on a task proactively, the attendants experience thought processes involved in solving a problem, and learn to consider the diverse viewpoints which are necessary for decision making.
In our session, we shall discuss an active learning method which has proven effective in cultivating abilities of problem solving in practical settings.
We will introduce the Case Method for application in various fields such as development and management of corporate strategy, employee mental health, and health and welfare policies of public sector.
